In continuation with our commitment to education in Goa, we are pleased to announce that our second school – Sharada Mandir School, Kadamba – has successfully completed its three year of operations.
At Sharada Mandir, we provide state-of-the art facilities conducive to engage learning and awaken multiple intelligences of our students while retaining its own unparalleled ethos. At Sharada Mandir, Miramar, we are thrilled that the school has completed almost two decades under the new management, with glowing achievements from our graduates each year not only in academics but also in sports, arts and culture. At Sharada Mandir, Kadamba, we look forward to striving for higher successes continuing in the footsteps of our sister school with a shared ethos, value-based teaching, high standards of scholarship, citizenship and personal responsibility.

Fr. Basilio Andrade, under whom I served as a school teacher in Majorda, was my inspiration for dedicating my life to education. In 2004, having completed 31 years as an educator – 11 years as a teacher and 20 years as a headmaster in several schools, I was asked to take on the role of Administrator at Sharada Mandir School. At the time, I knew I would become part of an institution that had a stellar reputation for providing quality education to its students.
My experiences over the last several years have helped me forge strong bonds with the management, staff, students and parents of the school and I find every aspect of my job both satisfying and challenging. Being at the helm of a wonderful team is both a pleasure and a privilege. One philosophy I follow, which I also encourage my staff to follow, is to always have a positive outlook in life and to never mix personal problems with professional ones. I also believe that everyone should endeavour to be the CEO of their own life regardless of what position or function they fulfil.
All of us at Sharada Mandir School are committed to serving the educational needs of as many children as we can accommodate, and we try our best to give our students an all-round learning experience. With the co-operation and dedication of all members of our great team, we hope to go from strength to strength in the years to come.

How true are these simple yet evocative words!
My dear students, teachers and parents, each of us humans have been gifted a mind to think, a heart to love and the power to disseminate our thoughts, words and actions. With those whom we bring close to our hearts, we cherish every moment with them and nurture the relationship till it blossoms to our heart’s content. However, my dear students, as much your parents and we at school, try to shelter you from the harsh realities in life, you will have to face the hardships that lie on your paths. These will be tests of your character and your inner strength and your true nature will emerge from these challenges.
What we have to remember is that more than words, more than even deeds, it is the way we make another person feel, that is finally remembered and recognized. There is a form of communication that transcends the power of words and that is the power of emotions.
So, my dear students, let us together make the world a better place, a happy place, where there’s more to life than just the mediocrity of one’s daily grind. Spread sunshine through your smiles and see the reflecting glory fall on you. Spend time with your grandparents and make them feel that they are still wanted. Make your best friend feel as if he or she is the most important person in your life and see how your life suddenly gains momentum and energy. The feelings aroused by the touch of a hand, the smell of a flower, a beautiful sunset, a work of art- all play on the conscious and unconscious aspects of the self and make you a more sublime human being. Maybe a part of our education system should be training in empathy.
Imagine how different the world would be if the curriculum prescribed was ‘reading, writing, arithmetic and empathy’!
As Aristotle has rightly put it, “We live in deeds, not in years; thoughts, not breaths; in feelings, not figures on a dial. He most lives who feels most and acts best!”
